Aleksandra Torbica

Aleksandra Torbica, MSc, PhD is Associate Professor at the Department of Social and Political Sciences and the Director of Centre for Research for Health and Social Care Management (CERGAS) at Bocconi University, Milan, Italy. Since 2020, she is a President of Italian Health Economics Association (AIES). She holds the MSc degree in Health Economics, Management and Policy from Bocconi University and PhD in Economics and Management of Public Organizations from University of Parma. Her research interests lie on the intersection between health policy, health economics and healthcare management. She is interested in exploring different methodologies stemming from these disciplines to investigate decision-making processes at macro (policy) and micro (management) levels, both in developed and low-middle income countries. She obtained several research grants and coordinated important international research projects funded by the European Commission. She co-authored numerous publications in prestigious outlets in health economics, health services research and health policy fields. Since 2016, she is serving as Co-Editor of Value in Health journal. Since 2020, she is serving as Special Advisor to the Chair of Pan European Commission on Health and Sustainable Development, endorsed by WHO Regional Office for Europe.
